Make a difference this holiday season - Help us give back to the kids that need extra cheer this year
It is an exciting time of year for many families. Everyone is looking forward to getting their holiday shopping underway. Please do not forget about giving back to the kids who really need the extra cheer this year! Help us make a difference in a child’s life.
Why we need your support today
- Globally, there are more than 400,000 children diagnosed with cancer each year.
- Approximately, 40,000 children are on active treatment in the U.S at any given time.
- Each year, about 1,700 new cases of childhood cancer are diagnosed in Canada.
- 75.7% of families fighting childhood cancer will have a parent reduce hours or leave their job altogether.
- Parents with children who have cancer face high loss of income and out-of-pocket costs.
This December our goal is to send over 100 gift bags to children with cancer around the world. In order to do this we need YOUR help.
Your generosity is crucial in putting a smile on children's faces this holiday season
Your impact
Your donation can make a significant difference for children with cancer. Many families dealing with childhood cancer have faced high loss of income. This is because one parent usually needs to stop working to care for their child. We hope to ease some financial stress by making sure to send them a gift bag full of goodies this holiday season!
Why I started a business to help children with cancer
When our daughter was 10 months old she woke up from a long nap with a head tilt. We took her to our local hospital thinking she might have a neck infection only to find out a few days later it was a brain tumor. Our lives changed forever. We were told she had a growing tumor, so she would be on and off treatment for many years.
After the shock wore off my husband and I started looking for books that would help her through her hard times. We were disappointed in the lack of relatable books for children with cancer.
Our daughter is now nearly 3 and on active treatment. Weekly chemotherapy and a trial drug. Alice loves Disney Princesses (like most boys and girls), She loves dressing up like them. I thought it would be great if there was a princess just like my daughter. A princess who has cancer, loses her hair and goes through what a lot of our children do, but in an enchanted world full of adventure. Princess Lily was created.
The Princess Lily Series
The Princess Lily Series started with just the books. Seeing my daughter get excited because Princess Lily has a port just like her is a amazing feeling.
Soon many families got in contact saying how much their children love the books, they told their friends about a princess just like them and liked bringing the books to school or the hospital with them. I wanted to give these children more to be excited about. Soon the Princess Lily dresses and swimsuits, Kiki the koala stuffy, bravery bead necklace, temporary tattoos and much more were available. Princess Lily merchandise is growing and we have many exciting new items that get released with each new book.

What a great concept! I love that Princess Lily can be an encouragement to so many little ones. Sharing this with others.
This is such a good cause to help out. I love the options you have and being able to impact a child’s life.
I LOVE this concept! I would also love to learn more about your donation process. I just launched an online used bookstore with the main goal that shoppers will donate each month toward children’s literacy programs – but this is just as special. When is the final deadline for accepting donations – or is this something you do year round?
Sarah, what a lovely way to give back to the childhood cancer community. I had a cousin who passed away from leukemia when she was 12, so this is very close to my heart. I will be purchasing some of these books as Christmas gifts for my children!
What a great idea!
