The Posh Princess

children's author

After twenty-two years of working as a healthcare professional, Carolina Cutruzzola decided to retire from her profession and follow her dream of becoming a children’s author. Inspired by her two young daughters, Carolina created The Adventures of Posh Princess picture book series in 2014. This series is all about fun, friendship, magic and adventure. It also includes important life lessons to empower the young reader such as: facing and conquering fears, not judging others based on appearance, teamwork, and self-acceptance.

Kool to be kind

Carolina is thrilled to release her newest story Kool to Be Kind. This picture book shines a powerful light as to why some children become bullies. By encouraging a shift from reacting towards bullies, to pro-acting with kindness, understanding and empathy, this story will surely help decrease the incidence of childhood bullying. It is an excellent resource for parents and teachers to open the line of communication on the especially important topic of bullying.

If you would like to contact Carolina and join her #Kool2BeKind movement, you can do so through her website. www.kool2bekind.netΒ

Self-publishing

Children's author

As a self-published author, Carolina has enjoyed having complete creative control over each picture book and feels a great sense of pride and accomplishment with all four of her publications.

Some other pros of self-publishing are the author owns all the rights to their books and receives all royalties.

Some of the drawbacks of self-publishing are the author incurs all costs of publishing (illustrations, formatting, editing service) and marketing and promotion can be costly and time consuming.

Being a traditionally published author is something that Carolina would be interested in pursuing with several future projects. The benefits of being traditionally published are the author does not incur any of the costs of publishing, they receive an advance payment, your book will be placed in bookstores and it brings prestige.

The cons to traditional publishing are authors have limited creative control, royalty rates are lower, it can be very time consuming and take one to two years to get your book on a bookshelf once you have signed the contract with a traditional publisher.

Carolina is excited to see where her publishing journey takes her and will continue to dream big and live with passion and purpose!

  1. I’m so glad to see books written to help young generations deal with today’s problems

  2. I love that this book shines the light as to why some children become bullies. That is not being talked about too much in children’s books, so I like that. I love books that teach kids how to protect themselves against bullies but also teach compassion and love.
    Awesome book! Good job!

  3. we need more children books like this, sometimes its easy to fall trap with all the gadgets and allow kids to use them at an early age. thanks for sharing this.

    1. Thank you, I totally agree! Teaching our kids the importance of kindness and empathy are essential to their growth and development.

      1. Storytelling and books are so impactful and influential in developing young children’s minds. I’ve noticed this firsthand in the raising of my 4 boys. I’m so inspired by your bravery (leaving your job to pursue your dream), mission, and message! It’s sure to make a difference in this world that so desperately needs it, and I can’t wait for the opportunity to read this to my 8 year old. Ironically, he just learned about social intelligence and empathy this week at school. This book would’ve been perfect! Good luck and God bless you!

    1. Thank you! Unfortunately, bullying is a topic that so many kids and adults can relate to. So important to teach kids the importance of kindness and empathy from a young age.

      1. Carolina, I commented on this post this morning, then later today my cousin (through marriage) posted about you and your book on Facebook! And apparently, she’s YOUR cousin, Rose! Talk about a small world! I wish you success with your book and I’ll be ordering a copy for my daughter.

    1. Thank you for your support and being part of my #Kool2beKind movement! I hope your little one enjoys my story.

  4. Yes! We need more authors like Carolina to make kindness, loving others, and just being an all around good person normal again. This pandemic has brought out the worst in people, but with the help of people like this, we may be able to teach the next generation to be more caring than we are.

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words!πŸ™ Now more than ever, we need to stick together and continue to extend kindness to eachother.

  5. I found your post heart warming and inspirational because you chose 5o focus on such a challenging topic for children. People often react to bullies without considering 5he root of their actions. As an aspiring children’s author, I also enjoyed learning about the publishing aspect of books.

    1. Thank you so much. Bullying is NEVER ok, but at the same time it is important to show empathy towards these children who bully because they are obviously coming from a place of hurt, anger, loneliness. They need support to help them break their cycle of bullying.πŸ™
